The final countdown had been started for the arrival in Pakistan of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Britain’s Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton were going to visit Pakistan today on 14 October for the first time. There arrival is expected in Islamabad at 9 pm. A five-day visit is organised at the request of the United Kingdom's Foreign and Commonwealth Office which will going to end on October 18. This five-day trip will going to be the first royal tour to Pakistan since 2006 when the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Charles and Camilla traveled to Pakistan.
A video message that was shared on Twitter by the high commissioner said that the Royal Couple would have a very exciting program in respect of the historic relations between Pakistan and the UK and also said the visit would largely focus on showcasing Pakistan as it was today -a dynamic, aspirational and forward looking nation.
An official handout from Kensington Palace had stated that during their time in Pakistan the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit Islamabad, Lahore, Gilgit-Baltistan and rugged border regions to the west. The visit will span over 1,00o Kilometers, and will take in Pakistan’s rich culture, its diverse communities, and its beautiful landscapes, the handout said. Princess Diana, the mother of Prince William visited Pakistan in the 1990s to participate in a fund-raising event for a cancer hospital that was built by Imran Khan that Pakistanis still fondly remember Princess Diana.
The preparations for the warm welcome of Prince William and Kate Middleton in Pakistan has been started. A royal rickshaw has been prepared for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
