When it is celebrated?

World mental health awareness day is celebrated each year on the 10 of October in order to spread awareness about the importance of mental health. It was first observed by the World Health Organization and the World Federation for Mental Health in 1992. 

Every year a special theme is set in order to raise awareness regarding a specific issue. In 2019, the target was to spread awareness regarding suicide. Mental health issues need to be addressed without any shame, hesitation and with valor. 

What should we do?

Sometimes, it's okay not to be okay. What we need to learn here is to talk freely and to listen without judging others on mental health issues. Sometimes, the most effective medicine for a human being is another.

The rise in these issues shows how much attention is really required for their solution.
