Coronavirus has entered Pakistan and this is the talk of the town. It has not only targeted human health but has also caused fear and terror in the whole country. Sindh was the first province to confirm two cases; two cases were reported in the Capital of Pakistan, Islamabad. While the latest case has been reported in Peshawar.
Unfortunately, there are some myths about the Epidemic, that need to be cleared and our public also requires true awareness free from any sort of myths so that the wave of fear can be elevated.
Facts about Coronavirus
Coronavirus spreads through droplet infection and these droplets come from the coughing, sneezing and talking of the infected person. There is no other mode of transmission.
The virus is only active if it succeeds to enter your respiratory tract. Otherwise, it is not viable on other body parts and it dies within some time.
This virus is thought to be sensitive to high temperature. It cannot withstand such high temperature as that we have in Pakistan. So, in a way, we will be free from this epidemic soon.
4. Definite Host
Its definitive host is only human beings. It cannot live on the non-living things and thus there is no chance of it getting transferred from things to humans.
5. Possible Treatment
When the coronavirus outbreak happened, there was no treatment as the world was horrified and the scientists were busy understanding the novel nature of Corona. But now, the treatment has been devised and many of the patients are recovering successfully from it.
So, in a nutshell, the need of the hour is not panicking over things but ensuring true safety and prevention practices so that we can be timely saved from this novel type of virus.
Preventing the Corona
Good fact about the corona is, it can be prevented by following simple and precise precautionary measures:
- Washing hands
- Wearing a mask when going to crowdy places
- Drinking plenty of water, because if accidentally the virus gets into your mouth, it can be washed down the stomach where the stomach acid kills it.
- Avoid shaking hands with others
- Staying at home most of the time
